IMMUTABLE
Ransomware works by re-writing the data storage with encrypted files. Making a backup immutable means once the backup is made, it is impossible to write over. This prevents backups from ransomware, even if they are compromised.
AIR GAPPED
Ransomware easily penetrates most backups. Air gapping prevents this by making the backup inaccessible to the outside world, preventing any threat from accessing the data.
